Business Insider South Africa tried out KFC’s latest offering, the Midnight Mojito Sparkling Krusher.
• Basically, KFC just replaced the Sprite in its original Virgin Mojito with Coke.
• In our view, not an improvement. Still refreshing, though.
KFC South Africa recently gave its Krusher product range an update with the addition of the ‘Midnight Mojito Sparkling Krusher’.
The fast-food chain first rolled out a limited range of the blended ice beverages about eight years ago with the Virgin Mojito Sparkling Krusher – an icy, carbonated beverage with a Sprite base, mixed with mint flavoured syrup, garnished with a lemon wedge and mint leaves. It has since expanded the Krusher flavours with yogurt berry, P.S. chocolate and Bakers lemon cream biscuits among others.
The latest offering returns to its roots – it’s an alternative to the Virgin Mojito Krusher. We were curious to taste it.

Finding one to taste was harder than we expected. As it turns out, mint syrup is in short supply. The first two KFC’s we tried were out of the syrup. In their defence, the past two days were sweltering and there may have been a strong demand for the new product.
