You’ve applied for a new job and been asked to come in for an interview, then you find out it will be a panel interview – something many people find intimidating.
Jennifer Ritchie, a business coach and consultant with the Freddy Hirsch Group, said, however, that they need not be that different from one-on-one interviews.
She said it would help to view the interview as a chance to prove your worth to the assembled group.
“View it as beneficial that there will be technical experts in the field, human resources representatives, line managers and senior leadership present as this will ensure a thorough process relying not only on behavioural examples and evidence and ensuring consistency and equity. Resolve to make the most of it, by preparing thoroughly and by enjoying the opportunity to meet a group of company management face to face.”

Getting a lot of job interviews but no job offers can be very frustrating and leave you feeling discouraged, but don’t fret. Getting an interview means you at least got your foot in the door – don’t give up!
Getting a job can be a hard experience, especially for competitive jobs. But there are many things you can do to help you get a job, not just job interviews.
Double-check your CV
Make sure there are no errors, grammatical, factual, or any others, that can make you look bad, or silly things on there that aren’t necessary. For example, you don’t have to put you worked at the local book shop for two months in high school on your professional CV.
A poor performance is usually something you see in amateur theatre – not in the workplace! Many employers – if not most – confuse poor performance …
